Ina May Wool grew up playing acoustic guitar and singing in Marblehead, Massachusetts, gigging around town since childhood. In the seventies, the Ina May Wool Band toured the Northeast playing an ambitious fusion of Ina May’s originals, country classics, blues, folk, and jazz tunes. After moving to New York City, she joined up with the Songwriter’s Exchange, wrote more and more songs, won song contests, and sang in all kinds of pickup bands and on recording gigs. She’s recorded and released her work on three different CDs, and her first video was released this year. Ina May is now the proud mama of a writing workshop series, sharing what she’s learned over the years about re-igniting the creativity we were all born with and helping both songwriters and non-songwriters move forward in their writing with joy.
